Latchford trained as an actor in Australia in 1982-3 and since then has completed many workshops specialising in working with camera, voice, Michael Chekhov technique, and under such people as Rae Allen, Rowena Balos, Mel Churcher and Tony Wickert.

As a producer he has staged three plays; An Australianised version of Beckett's Waiting for Godot : Dimetos a rarely seen play of Athol Fugard: Beckett's Endgame performed in a tiny claustrophobic theatre in Sydney. This production was later made into a studio film version that is marketed in Australia.
He has been doing voice-over work for more than 15 years and has been the voice for Singapore Airlines, Kia and Philips. He voiced the the award winning cinema ads for Philips in the 1980s in which he spoke the thoughts of a child. He was also a narrator for Royal Blind Society of NSW on their talking books.

Originally trained as a graphic designer and illustrator at Sidcup School of Art he tried painting and eventually turned to sculpture. He has exhibited in a number of galleries including the Wollongong City Art Gallery, the Irving Sculpture Gallery and the Sydney Opera House. His work has been purchased for a number of private collections.
Latchford has written one stage and two radio plays and is currently engaged in writing a screenplay based on the life of a well known English literary figure.
